Chez Eating is a Taiwanese vegetarian restaurant tucked into the vibrant 3rd arrondissement on Rue Volta, offering a sincere taste of Taiwan’s plant-based culinary traditions within Paris. It stands out less as a flashy dining spot and more as a quietly authentic corner where Taiwanese flavors meet vegetarian cooking with careful attention.

The atmosphere here leans toward warm and homey rather than formal or trendy. The space is inviting, suggesting a place where locals—especially those craving a touch of Taiwanese comfort food—might settle in for a relaxed lunch or dinner. It’s easy to imagine this being a regular haunt for anyone seeking the flavors of Taiwan’s vegetarian scene without leaving Paris, particularly given the strong historic ties between vegetarianism and the Taiwanese Buddhist community.

Menus here reflect a blend of familiar Taiwanese dishes adapted for a vegetarian diet, such as Mapo Tofu Teishoku, Tofu Frit, and the Taiwanese take on fried chicken. You’ll find delicate preparations like a yuzu-sauce tofu starter that manages to highlight each ingredient’s flavor without overwhelming. Desserts leaning toward matcha and light creams hint at a subtle touch of Japanese influence, which feels quite natural in this neighborhood setting.

The service matches the understated vibe—attentive and genuine without fuss. This is a spot where staff seem to know their regulars and newcomers alike, adding to that sense of dining at someone’s thoughtfully tended home.

Chez Eating suits those who appreciate vegetarian meals anchored in authentic Taiwanese tradition, whether in Paris temporarily or as residents craving flavors from home. It’s a good choice if you want hearty portions paired with freshness, in a place that feels quietly connected to the local Taiwanese community and the broader multicultural fabric of Le Marais. Visiting in the early evening or weekend midday allows you to avoid any weekday lunch rush, offering a chance to settle in and enjoy the steady, unpretentious flow of diners.

What a heartwarming place Beautiful and incredibly well cooked dishes with each ingredient flavour coming through. Very caring service, if I lived here I'd be a regular We had a tofu in yuzu sauce to start, which was the star of the show.

This place is amazing! Just looking at the pictures makes me hungry again. I love how they recreate typical Taiwanese dishes vegetarian, it was really the most delicious one I tried here. The warm atmosphere and friendly staffs make it feel like home for a Taiwanese in Paris!

I am Taiwanese, and this tasted EXACTLY like home!! A lot of foreigners don’t know this, but in Taiwan there are lots of fully vegetarian restaurants because of the Buddhist community, so all of the vegan dishes here are actually super traditional. As a vegetarian this is something I really miss while looking for Taiwanese food abroad, and I am so so happy I found this place. The owner is absolutely lovely, food 100/10, will absolutely be back every time I’m feeling homesick Our favorites were the cold tantan noodles, the oyster mushroom rice, the fried tofu appetizer, and tea eggs! We didn’t go for any of the non-Taiwanese dishes (bibimbap, curry, and kimchi) because obviously it was a Taiwanese place ;)

I’m so glad I tried this place! I ordered takeaway, and it was amazing—the bibimbap was the best I’ve had so far, fresh and full of flavor. Even though I wasn’t dining in, the staff were so friendly and nice when I picked up my order. I will definitely be coming back!

Friendly service, great food, and a cozy atmosphere! Chez Eating is a delightful find for anyone who loves creative vegetarian cuisine. The chef’s creativity shines through in the menu, offering a variety of dishes that are both flavorful and beautifully presented. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the staff and the chef, who took the time to recommend dishes. Each recommendation was a hit! I absolutely loved the Thai-style curry — so rich and satisfying that I didn’t even miss having meat. Bravo, Chez Eating! Keep up the great vibes and amazing food. We’ll definitely be back.
